Worth noting

Jason Hammel, on the disabled list with right flexor tightness, will throw off the mound for a second time on Sunday, and is slated to throw for Double-A Bowie in a rehab game that will most likely be on Thursday. Hammel will throw 45-50 pitches in that game, and he could need just one more rehab game after that, particularly if the team brings him back as a bullpen option. That scenario is looking like it will probably happen and it will give the Orioles Hammel back much quicker if it does.

• Wilson Betemit's rehab assignment ends on Monday, and the team could try to extend him, but would need his permission to do so. Betemit, who hasn't played this season due to a right knee injury, recently moved up to Triple-A Norfolk.

• Orioles closer Jim Johnson, who became the first Baltimore pitcher to post two straight 40-save seasons in Friday's win, is the 21st pitcher in baseball to accomplish 40 saves in consecutive seasons.

• Feldman, who has been in the bullpen the past few days in the event of an emergency, will pitch Sunday's series finale against Oakland.
