Worth noting
• The Twins released Minor League relievers Tim Wood and Luis Perdomo on Wednesday, according to general manager Terry Ryan.
Wood, 30, had season-ending shoulder surgery Aug. 22 and never pitched with the Twins, as he was bothered by shoulder injuries throughout the season. But Wood, who was on the 60-day disabled list, rehabbed at both Class A Advanced Fort Myers and Triple-A Rochester and combined to post an 8.68 ERA in nine games.
Perdomo, 29, posted a 5.95 ERA with 59 strikeouts and 43 walks in 65 innings at Triple-A Rochester. He saw action with the Twins last year, appearing in 15 games and posting a 3.18 ERA. The Twins released Perdomo to make room for right-hander Cole De Vries on Rochester's roster.
• First baseman Chris Colabello was named the International League's Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year. Colabello, 29, hit .352/.427/.639 with 24 homers, 25 doubles and 76 RBIs in 89 games with Triple-A Rochester this year.
• Ryan said the Twins would receive cash instead of a player from the Royals in the trade that sent Jamey Carroll to Kansas City on Aug. 11. He said he expected the trade to be officially completed soon.
