• Jason Hammel, making his second rehab start, went four innings Tuesday for short-season Aberdeen and could be activated as early as Saturday. Hammel, on the disabled list with right forearm tightness, allowed one run on three hits and a walk.

• Frederick athletic trainer Patrick Wesley has been named Carolina League Athletic Trainer of the Year. Wesley is in his 10th year in the organization and has worked at Major League Spring Training each of the past three springs.
