Worth noting

• The White Sox reinstated right-handed pitcher Ramon Troncoso from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Orioles.

Troncoso, 30, has been on the disabled list since Aug. 17, with pericarditis, which is inflammation of the tissue around the heart. He is 1-4 with a 5.25 ERA in 25 appearances out of the bullpen this season.

• White Sox pitchers Addison Reed, Nate Jones, Donnie Veal, Dylan Axelrod and third baseman Conor Gillaspie visited the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for wounded soldiers Friday in Bethesda, Md.

The players spent the day talking to injured veterans and taking pictures.

"Going to Walter Reed today was a very humbling experience," Reed said on Twitter. "Those guys were awesome. Don't EVER take anything for granted!"
