Worth noting

• The Giants announced Friday that infielder Kensuke Tanaka cleared waivers and became a free agent, while left-hander Dan Runzler was outrighted to Triple-A Fresno. Both were designated for assignment on Tuesday to clear room on the 40-man roster.

• Entering Friday, the Giants had lost 36 home games, their highest total since finishing 37-44 at AT&T Park in 2008. That's the poorest home performance the Giants have sustained since AT&T opened in 2000. They also finished 37-44 in 2005. The Giants' worst home record since the franchise moved to San Francisco in 1958 was 35-46 in 1984.

• In his first 22 games at AT&T Park since breaking into the Majors in 2011, Arizona first baseman Paul Goldschmidt hit .333 (26-for-78) with five home runs and 20 RBIs. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, no other visiting player has driven in that many runs in San Francisco in that stretch.
