Worth noting

Danny Valencia keeps on rolling. He had three hits on Saturday and has gotten at least two hits in eight of his last nine starts -- including six consecutive ones from Aug. 4-Sept. 1. Valencia, who did not start Sunday, is hitting .563 in his last nine games (18-for-32). According to STATS, Inc., that's the second-best average over a nine-game period this year behind only Robinson Cano's .571 (Aug. 12-20).

J.J. Hardy did something unusual for the Orioles on Saturday: He made an error. That's only the 41st error the team's made this season, by far the fewest in the Major Leagues. STATS, Inc. said the Orioles were the first team ever to reach 100 error-free games by the end of August.

Jim Johnson's 42 saves lead the American League. He's the first Orioles pitcher to reach 40 saves in a season twice.
