Worth noting

• Left-fielder Khris Davis was not in the starting lineup for the third consecutive game Sunday, but said the swelling in his sore left wrist has gone down and he hopes to return to the lineup on Tuesday in St. Louis following an off-day Monday.

"[Davis was] an iffy [on Sunday]," Roenicke said. "Hopefully with the off-day, we get him back in St. Louis and he can get back out in the outfield."

• Sunday's starter, Yovani Gallardo, entered the game with 1,056 career strikeouts, trailing Ben Sheets (1,206) and Teddy Higuera (1,081) for the most strikeouts in franchise history.
