Worth noting

• Gardenhire said Ryan Doumit was done catching this year and would be used only as a designated hitter and outfielder. Josmil Pinto, Chris Herrmann and Eric Fryer will split catching duties in September.

• With Triple-A Rochester being eliminated in the International League playoffs Sunday, the Twins' Minor League season is now complete. The Red Wings, who went 77-67, were one of five affiliates to post a winning record this year, joining Class A Advanced Fort Myers (79-56), Class A Cedar Rapids (88-50), Rookie-level Elizabethton (37-31) and the Dominican Summer League Twins (36-33). Double-A New Britain went 66-76, and the Gulf Coast League Twins went 28-32.

• The Twins announced their rosters for the instructional league. Notable players set to participate are pitchers Alex Meyer, Jose Berrios, Kohl Stewart and Stephen Gonsalves. Other notable prospects include third baseman Travis Harrison, infielder Niko Goodrum and outfielder Adam Walker.
