Worth noting

Reed Johnson's strikeout in the ninth inning of Tuesday's first game came in what was his first at-bat since he was placed on the disabled list with left Achilles tendinitis on July 29. Johnson's running ability is still limited to the point he would likely be replaced by a pinch-runner if he reached base. But Gonzalez said it is too early to know whether the veteran pinch-hitter could be available in the postseason.

• Kyle Wren, the son of Braves general manager Frank Wren, is still dealing with the post-concussion symptoms that developed after he ran into the center-field wall while playing for Class A Rome on Aug. 30. Wren developed and began feeling nauseous while playing for Class A Advanced Lynchburg during a playoff game a few days later. He will not be cleared to begin baseball activities again until he passes an impact test.
