• Within the next couple of days, the Angels are expected to announce a new third-base coach, a new special assistant to the general manager and a new seventh coach, who will serve as a facilitator to advanced scouting.

• Omar Vizquel will return to his role as roving infield instructor in 2014.

• Infielder Grant Green will not be playing winter ball this offseason, though he'll nonetheless spend the winter getting better acclimated with third base. Third baseman Luis Jimenez was expected to play for bench coach Dino Ebel's team in the Dominican Republic, but he'll stay away from baseball activities because he has to take care of a sore shoulder.
