Worth noting

• Ausmus said he isn't sure exactly when Jose Iglesias (shin splints) will get back on the field, but he heard the shortstop is moving in the right direction and feeling better. At this point, Ausmus said, the Tigers are aiming to get Iglesias completely healthy before he resumes baseball activities, as they don't want the injury to flare up again later.

"We're trying not only to get rid of the pain, but also minimize the chances of it returning," Ausmus said.

• Lefty reliever Duane Below (elbow irritation) is continuing to receive treatment and has not resumed throwing, Ausmus said.

• Reliever Joba Chamberlain caused something of a stir on Twitter on Sunday when he posted a picture of catcher Bryan Holaday wearing a one-piece swimsuit next to model Kate Upton, with the caption, "Too many bikini models in 1 room." Chamberlain said the outfit was entirely Holaday's idea, and he wasn't surprised by the reaction the photo has received, including more than 1,000 retweets and 800 favorites.

"It was just one of those spur-of-the-moment kind of things. It fit, so when in Rome, you know?" Chamberlain said, laughing. "Obviously, the reaction to a grown man in a one-piece stars-and-stripes swimsuit is going to be a reaction no matter where it's at. ... He probably could have used a spray tan before, but we'll have to work on that.

"He embraced it. You've got to love somebody like that."
