Worth noting

• Thursday's eighth inning featured a comedy of errors -- well, four, actually -- committed by the Rockies. The first two came on separate fielding miscues on the left side of the infield. The others came on one play, which started when first baseman Kyle Parker's throw sailed into left field, where it was fielded by left fielder Tyler Massey, who then overthrew second.

Even Weiss couldn't help but laugh at the short screening of the "Bad News Bears."

"That's what you get sometimes in the spring," Weiss said with a chuckle. "But, no, it's never fun to watch. We've had a couple tough days defensively, but I'm not very concerned. We've got a really good defensive club when we're at full strength."

• Right-handed reliever Nick Masset struggled in his Cactus League debut Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks in one inning. Masset, who returned to camp on Wednesday after being with his wife for the birth of their second daughter, is attempting a comeback after not pitching in the Majors since 2011.
