• Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen pitched three innings in a Triple-A game on the back fields at Ed Smith Stadium on Monday and then threw several more innings in a simulated game in an indoor batting cage after the Minor League game was rained out.

• The Orioles likely won't have any major roster cuts until after Wednesday's split-squad games against the Red Sox and Rays.

• Showalter said he heard that two pitchers in the Orioles' Minor League camp, Juan Morillo and Williams Louico, are throwing fastballs of 100 mph or more.

• The Orioles will host the fourth annual All Faiths Food Drive on Thursday to help people in need in the Sarasota area. Fans who attend Thursday's 7:05 p.m. ET game against the Rays at Ed Smith Stadium are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations to benefit the All Faiths Food Bank.
