Worth noting

• The Giants turned a notable 4-6-3 double play Thursday night as Brandon Hicks, Brandon Crawford and Brandon Belt combined forces to retire a pair of D-backs. Hunter Pence recently discussed the abundance of Brandons on the team in a guest MLB.com blog post and second baseman Hicks said the trio of Brandons noted the novelty of their double play.

"We did a few during Spring Training and we did another last night. We talked about it a little bit," said Hicks, who started for the fourth time in six contests Friday.

• Closer Sergio Romo isn't expected to miss any time due to the stomach ailment that caused him to grimace in pain following his scoreless inning Thursday. "I'm good," Romo said before Friday's contest against Colorado.
