• Outfielder Carlos Quentin, on the disabled list with a bone bruise in his left knee, was out on the field for batting practice again Wednesday. Quentin hit with the early group, played long toss in the outfield during batting practice and "moved around" as manager Bud Black said.

"He's getting close to more baseball activity on the field," Black said.

When asked if Quentin might be ready for a Minor League injury rehab stint by the weekend, Black said that wouldn't be likely.
