• Robinson Chirinos was out of the lineup on Friday as J.P. Arencibia started at catcher. The Rangers are 10-2 when Chirinos catches, an .833 winning percentage that's the highest for a Major League player who has started at least half his team's games.

• Pitcher Hector Noesi has been claimed off waivers by the White Sox. Noesi was designated for assignment by the Rangers earlier this week. He pitched in three games for the Rangers and had an 11.81 ERA.

• The Rangers have activated pitcher Cody Buckel off the disabled list at Class A Myrtle Beach. Infielder Edwin Garcia has been promoted from Myrtle Beach to Double-A Frisco. Infielder Guilder Rodriguez has been promoted from Frisco to Triple-A Round Rock. Infielder Luis Mendez has been transferred from extended spring to Myrtle Beach.
