Worth noting

• Infielder Josh Wilson has accepted outright assignment to Triple-A Round Rock rather than enter free agency. He was designated for assignment last week.

• Pitcher Tanner Scheppers, who has been on the disabled list since April 18 with inflammation in his right elbow, is expected to resume throwing off a mound while the Rangers are in Houston.

• Infielder Jurickson Profar, who has been on the DL since the beginning of the season with a torn muscle in his right shoulder, has reported to Surprise, Ariz., to begin playing games in extended spring training. He is expected to start out as designated hitter.

• Outfielder Odubel Herrera, who was hitting .297 at Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach, has been promoted to Double-A Frisco. Herrera is a former infielder who has been playing the outfield this season to increase his versatility. Outfielder Chris Grayson has been sent from Frisco to Myrtle Beach.
