Worth noting

• Right-hander Asher Wojciechowski threw 66 pitches (41 strikes) Wednesday in his first rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City at New Orleans. He went four innings, allowing one run on four hits. Wojcichowski walked one and struck out five in a 4-1 victory. He has been on the disabled list since March 21 with a right lat strain.

• Asked about Hoes' return the same day the Angels sent their only left-hander in the bullpen, Hector Santiago, to Triple-A Salt Lake, Porter said, "All I know is (Mike) Trout's not playing. It's good."

The Angels center fielder has a hamstring strain.

"He can take off any time, every time we play them," said Porter, who has extolled Trout's virtues several times during the series. "He won't get any complaints from me."
