Worth noting

• The Phillies' bench has been one of the least productive in baseball with its pinch-hitters posting a .486 OPS, which ranked 26th out of 30 teams entering Friday's action. Sandberg indicated it has been productive.

"We've had some hits," the skipper said. "We've had some hits off the bench. A guy that could pop one or drive one out of the ballpark, that's a whole other component. It could be there."

• Twenty-three years ago on Friday, Tommy Greene threw the eighth no-hitter in Phillies history. Greene walked seven Expos, struck out 10 and threw 130 pitches in front of an announced crowd of 8,833 at Olympic Stadium in Montreal.
