Worth noting

• Class A Hickory outfielder Evan Van Hoosier and pitcher Cody Kendall have been selected to the South Atlantic League North Division All-Star team. Van Hoosier, an eighth-round pick in 2013 out of the College of Southern Nevada, is hitting .308 with 13 doubles, five triple, four home runs, 30 RBIs and 33 runs scored in 38 games. Kendall was an eighth-round pick in 2012 out of Fresno State who is 3-2 with a 0.98 ERA in 15 relief appearances.

Alex Rios has been named the Rangers Player of the Month in May after hitting .312 with two home runs, 17 RBIs and 16 runs scored over 28 games. He was also the first Rangers player to hit five triples in any month.

Mitch Moreland lost a double and an RBI because of a scoring change from the May 24 game in Detroit. It was changed to a two-base error.

• The Rangers had Kangaroo Court on the return flight from Washington on Sunday night, fining players for frivolous and stupid infractions. For example, Luis Sardinas was hit for starting for first base after a ball-three call. Prince Fielder was fined for transgressions even though he is out for the season after undergoing neck surgery. Derek Holland was picked on excessively even though he hasn't pitched all year.
