Worth noting

• Third baseman Cody Asche, who has been on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring, had started to hit, but he is probably more than a week away from rejoining the team.

• Left-hander Cliff Lee, who is on the DL with a strained left elbow, still has not been cleared to throw. He continues to be tested daily.

• Triple-A outfielder Darin Ruf, who is on the DL with a sprained left wrist and bruised right knee, still has swelling in his leg after slamming into a wall at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. He will be evaluated again Monday.

• Right-hander Luis Garcia has been reinstated from the 15-day DL and has been optioned to Lehigh Valley. He had been on the DL since May 22 with a strained right forearm.
