Worth noting

Matt Wieters will see Dr. James Andrews on Monday for a follow-up visit on his right elbow, and Showalter said the organization will go one of two ways with the All-Star catcher after that. Wieters will either resume his throwing program or have surgery.

"We always said, 'What if Matt [gets hurt]? What are we going to do?' Well, here we are. I hope that we get some good news on Monday, but you better prepare like you're not," Showalter said.

Wei-Yin Chen will start Monday's game, with the rest of the three-game set against Tampa Bay undecided. Miguel Gonzalez could start one of those, and Showalter said he hoped to have more clarity on the rotation on Saturday.

• The Orioles announced the signing of a trio of Draft picks on Friday night, inking third baseman Riley Palmer (31st round), right fielder Jamill Moquete (32) and center fielder Tad Gold (35), to bring their total of signed players to eight.
