Worth noting

• Once the Gulf Coast League season ends on either Sunday or Monday, look for Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo to advance to either Double-A Portland or Triple-A Pawtucket for the playoffs. The Red Sox will try to get him as many at-bats as possible before he makes his debut in the Majors.

"There's at-bats to be had here in the coming days," said Farrell.

Castillo will play his first game as a professional Sunday afternoon in Fort Myers, Fla.

• Bogaerts was in a prolonged slump offensively before going on the seven-day disabled list, and Farrell is hopeful the break will do him some good.

"There's been some specific things that he's continued to work on early with [hitting coaches Greg Colbrunn and Victor Rodriguez]," said Farrell. "Taking it from the cage and the early work, and the BP prior to the game into the game has been where maybe the missing link has reared its head. It's still the same talented player that's there, we're just trying to get him back on track and have for quite a while."
