Sanchez headlines prospects for AFL

BOSTON -- Catcher Gary Sanchez, who is rated the Yankees' No. 7 prospect by MLBPipeline.com, has been named as one of the organization's participants in the Arizona Fall League.

Joining the 22-year-old Sanchez as members of the Surprise Saguaros are left-handers Chaz Hebert and Ty Webb, infielders Eric Jagielo and Tyler Wade and outfielder Dustin Fowler, who will participate as a member of the taxi squad on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Sanchez is currently on the Minor League disabled list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with a strained hamstring, sustained while running down the first-base line last Wednesday. Due to the injury, Sanchez was not among the Yankees' first batch of September callups.

A participant for the World team in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark, Sanchez batted a combined .274 with 18 homers and 62 RBIs in 93 games for Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The Saguaros will be comprised of players from the Brewers, Cardinals, Rangers, Royals and Yankees organizations, playing their home games at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Jose Rosado, the Yanks' pitching coach at Double-A Trenton, will serve in that same capacity for Surprise.
