Yanks to open '16 in the Bronx vs. the Astros
Dodgers will also come to Yankee Stadium in September
NEW YORK -- The Yankees will open the 2016 regular season by hosting the Astros at Yankee Stadium on April 4, according to a tentative schedule released by Major League Baseball on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bombers open the campaign with a three-game series against Houston before making the first trip of the year, visiting the Tigers and Blue Jays prior to a nine-game homestand.
New York's first meeting with the Red Sox comes April 29-May 1 at Fenway Park. Boston visits the Bronx on May 6-8, July 15-17 and Sept. 27-29. The Yanks also go to Boston Aug. 9-11 and Sept. 15-18.

Interleague Play continues with the Yankees matching up against the National League West, hosting the Rockies (June 21-22), Giants (July 22-24) and Dodgers (Sept. 12-14). They will also visit the D-backs (May 16-18), Rockies (June 14-15) and Padres (July 1-3).
In addition, the Subway Series against the Mets will be a four game home-and-home, with two games to be played at Citi Field on Aug. 1-2 and two to be played at Yankee Stadium on Aug. 3-4.
Some of the Yankees' longest trips of the year, in terms of distance, come in May when they visit Arizona and the Athletics (May 19-22), and August when they see the Angels (Aug. 19-21) and Mariners (Aug. 22-24).
They will play 10 straight on the road to begin July at San Diego, the White Sox (July 4-6) and the Indians (July 7-10) leading into the All-Star Game, to be played on July 12 at San Diego's Petco Park.
Twenty-seven of the Yankees' final 30 games will be against American League East opponents. The Yankees play their final six games at Yankee Stadium, wrapping up the regular season Sept. 30-Oct. 2 against the Orioles.
