Yu Darvish scratched from Tuesday's start due to neck stiffness

Rangers starter for Tuesday is TBA

Minneapolis, MN-The Texas Rangers today announced that right-handed pitcher Yu Darvish has been scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday evening versus the Minnesota Twins at Target Field due to neck stiffness.

Texas' starter for tonight will be announced.

Darvish reported the stiffness when he woke up late this morning. He underwent treatment and reported some improvement but is still experiencing some stiffness.

Darvish reported that the symptoms are similar to what he experienced in spring training, when he did not pitch between March 17 and his first regular season appearance on April 6. He opened the season on the 15-day disabled list.

Darvish will undergo a precautionary MRI today in Minneapolis. At this point, no determination has been made on when he will make his next start.

Darvish is 4-2 with a 2.35 ERA in 9 starts in 2014. He has the American League's fourth lowest ERA and ranks seventh with 71 strikeouts.
