Tugger the service pup visits Delaware Valley veteran's home
Ahead of Thursday’s First Responders Night at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies, Team Foster and Warrior Canine Connection joined the beloved Tugger the service pup for a special visit to the Delaware Valley Veteran’s Home to celebrate and honor local vets.
Tugger spent the day bringing much-needed joy and tail wags to the residents at the home. The visit also served as an opportunity for Tugger to hone his social skills and prepare to one day serve a veteran in need.
1980 World Series champion Dickie Noles and 1993 National League champion Milt Thompson also came along for the visit, swapping stories and signing hats and cards for the residents.
Tugger was named after U.S. Marine Corps veteran and late Phillies great Tug McGraw. The Phillies’ service pup initiativewith Team Foster and Warrior Canine Connection was made possible through a Phillies Charities, Inc. grant.
