The Pirates are offering fans who previously had Bucco Bricks at PNC Park the opportunity to receive a complimentary commemorative brick from the Pirates. If you or your family donated to the original Bucco Brick program and would like a complimentary commemorative brick, please email talkback@pirates.com, by May 31st, and someone from the front office will be in touch on next steps.

BRONZE PLAQUE

The Pittsburgh Pirates installed commemorative bronze displays on the façade of PNC Park located on West General Robinson Street and Mazeroski Way. The bronze panels, 60 in total, adorn more than 10,000 fan messages that were originally displayed on bricks embedded in the sidewalks outside of the ballpark.

What happened to the original fan message bricks?

The original bricks, which were embedded in the sidewalks, have been replaced by bronze plaques to create a more durable and long-lasting display.

The bricks required multiple replacements over time. The new bronze plaques provide a more sustainable and permanent solution to preserve fan messages.

How many fan messages are included in the new display?

More than 10,000 fan messages are included in the bronze panel displays.

How many panels are there and what are their specifications?

  • 60 total bronze panels
  • Approximately 5 feet high and 6 feet long
  • Each weighs about 300 pounds
  • Each panel contains around 170 messages

Who created the bronze panels?

The panels were manufactured by Matthews International Architectural Products, a Pittsburgh-based company.

Will my original message still look the same?

Yes. Messages retain their original rectangular or square format and font size, matching how they appeared on the original bricks.

How long have these messages been part of PNC Park?

I ordered a brick in 2025 as part of the Bucco Brick mailing campaign. Why was my message not added to the bronze display?

Only messages that were a part of the original program were made a part of the display. Fans had the chance to secure a brick for home delivery, but due to a variety of reasons, those messages were never made a part of the bronze plaque display.

That installation was meant for the original program messages only.
