Expected return: TBD
Status: Struck in the side of the head on Friday night by a 103 mph comebacker in the seventh inning. Left the field under his own power, being treated and evaluated by Pirates medical staff. (Last updated: March 14) More >>
RHP Jared Jones
Injury: Right UCL sprain
IL date: Feb. 11 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Late May/early June
Status: Will continue to throw live BP as part of his rehab progression. Senior director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Jones is meeting all the benchmarks. Goal is for Jones to be game-ready at the one-year mark post-surgery (May 21). (Last updated: Feb. 23)
LHP Oddanier Mosqueda
Injury: Left forearm discomfort
Expected return: by Opening Day
Status: Will not throw for a couple of weeks after experiencing swelling and soreness following a live workout on Feb. 22. Will miss playing for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic, but the Pirates are hopeful he'll be ready by the start of the regular season. (Last updated: Feb. 23)
