Pete enjoyed a breakout 2022 season, batting a combined .312 (132-for-423) with 20 doubles, 10 triples, 16 home runs, 61 RBI, 32 stolen bases and 36 walks, contributing to a .376 on-base percentage and an .896 OPS in 101 games with Low-A Myrtle Beach and High-A South Bend... In 2022, was the lone player in minor league baseball with a .300+ average, 20+ doubles, 10+ triples, 15+ home runs, 60+ RBI and 30+ stolen bases....Began the season with Myrtle Beach, where he was named the Cubs Minor League Player of the Month for April after hitting .375 (24-for-64) with four doubles, one triple, three home runs and 13 RBI in 16 games....Tallied 12 multi-hit efforts in a 14-game span from April 20-May 7, including seven-straight from April 28-May 7, batting .483 (29-for-60) during that span....
