Bowling Green scored a run in the first inning and rallied for five in the second against Peoria starter Angel Rondon. Moises Gomez doubled home Rays No. 12 prospect Vidal Brujan, who walked, in the first. In the second, Brujan came through with an RBI single, and Taylor Walls brought in two more with a double before scoring on Jim Haley's single.
In the third, Trey Hair added another run by launching a solo homer to right-center field.
With the early scoring, Bowling Green starter Paul Campbell had more than enough run support. The right-hander tossed six strong innings, giving up two runs on five hits, walking one and striking out four. The only blemish on Campbell's line came on a two-run double in the top of the sixth by Dennis Ortega.
Bowling Green's bullpen took care of things from there, as relievers Tyler Day, Jhonleider Salinas and Matt Seelinger each tossed a perfect inning to close out the clincher.
