The World Series hasn’t even started yet, but Junior Caminero is already doing damage.
The Rays slugger hit a batting-practice home run Thursday that knocked out part of the center-field videoboard at American Family Field in Milwaukee, the site of Game 1 of the World Series on Friday (8 p.m. ET on FOX/FOX One). Then, a day later, he nearly took out the FOX broadcast booth setup where the crew of Kevin Burkhardt, Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz and Derek Jeter would soon be situated.
"Junior Caminero tried to murder us before the game," Burkhardt quipped during the pregame show.
Caminero is fresh off a memorable performance in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against the Guardians on Monday, putting an exclamation point on Tampa Bay's pennant-clinching victory with a laser off the left-field foul pole -- followed by one of the longest home run trots you'll ever see -- in the bottom of the seventh inning.
If these BP sessions are any indication, the 22-year-old is ready to leave his mark on the Fall Classic as well.
