PHOENIX -- Diamondbacks second baseman was scratched from the lineup just before Friday night's game against the Mets due to illness.

Marte had been scheduled to hit second and play second base until falling ill. The team didn't specify the illness.

To replace Marte, was moved from first base to second base and up in the order to second. Rookie Jose Fernandez was added to the lineup playing first base and batting eighth.

After the D-backs’ 3-1 loss, manager Torey Lovullo said Marte was sent home before the game began after feeling ill. He was back in the lineup on Saturday, leading off and playing second base.
