MILWAUKEE – Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick will undergo imaging on his right shoulder after exiting Friday’s 2-1 win over the Marlins at American Family Field, and he could be down for a while, manager Pat Murphy said.
Frelick first felt discomfort on a throw from right field in the top of the fourth and didn’t come out to the on-deck circle when his turn came up in the bottom of that inning. Rookie Luis Lara wound up taking Frelick’s place at the start of the fifth.
"He's had a little issue earlier this season. We don't want to take any chances,” Murphy said. “I suspect he won't be able to go anytime soon. That's what it looks like."
Frelick’s production is down this season, but he put together a solid June (.880 OPS) before going 4-for-31 on the Brewers’ long road trip leading to the All-Star break.
