Welcome to Promo Preview, a monthly round-up of the best promotions taking place throughout Minor League Baseball. May highlights include fashionable squirrels, Yard Goats, another GOAT and, of course, much more.

Dave Flemming bobblehead
Visalia Rawhide (Single-A AZ), May 2
Nearly all Major League play-by-play broadcasters spend time in the Minor Leagues before getting the call to The Show. San Francisco Giants broadcaster Dave Flemming started his career in 2000 with the Visalia Oaks, calling games AND serving as assistant general manager. Approximately 9,500 days have passed since Flemming's tenure in Visalia and the team -- now called the Rawhide -- is feeling nostalgic. On May 2, they'll honor their prestigious alum with a Dave Flemming bobblehead.

Nutasha Weekend
Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double-A SF), May 9-10
Nutasha was unveiled by the Flying Squirrels in 2016, joining Nutzy within the team's superhero squirrel mascot pantheon. Her profile is about to rise higher than it's ever been, as the Flying Squirrels will debut Nutasha-themed uniforms on Mother's Day Weekend. These vibrant duds, featuring liberal usage of the color pink, are the first Minor League Baseball uniforms to feature a female mascot.

Nothing Night
Louisville Bats (Triple-A CIN), May 12

Nothing But Baseball Night
Omaha Storm Chasers (Triple-A KC), May 12
Two teams are taking the minimalistic approach on May 12, via their iterations of the long-running Minor League promo that is Nothing Night (originated by the Lake Elsinore Storm nearly two decades ago). The goal is simple: to remove the metaphorical, and sometimes literal, bells and whistles from the ballpark experience. No videoboard, no PA announcer, no between-inning contests, just baseball. Louisville's version has, in the past, featured live organ music in lieu of prerecorded sounds. Get to the ballpark and experience baseball zen.

Tulsa Ranch Dippers
Tulsa Drillers (Double-A LAD), May 16
The Ranch Dippers make their debut in Tulsa, with the Drillers assuming an alternate identity that pays homage to, you guessed it, ranch dressing. The primary logo, featuring an anthropomorphic pizza proactively enhancing its flavor by taking a dip in the beloved foodstuff, lays it on thick. Ranch Dippers is a partnership between the Drillers and Mazzio's, a Tulsa-area pizza chain famous for its ranch dressing.

Seigo's 100th Marathon
St. Paul Saints (Triple-A MIN), May 16
Seigo Masubuchi is one of the St. Paul Saints' Ushertainers, best known at the ballpark for leading karaoke singalongs atop the dugout. He is also a devoted marathoner, and on May 16 he will run the 100th marathon of his career -- and he'll do it entirely within the confines of St. Paul's CHS Field. This isn't his first marathon within the venue, which requires 84 laps around the concourse to complete. Last year he ran his 96th marathon in similar fashion, dealing with 90-degree heat all the while. Come to the game and cheer Seigo on while waiting in line for a hot dog. It's the least you could do.

We Love Disla Night
Hub City Spartanburgers (High-A TEX), May 19
Arturo "El Búfalo" Disla quickly emerged as a fan favorite during the Spartanburgers' 2025 inaugural season, owing to his slugging prowess, effervescent personality and rotund body type. The 25-year-old native of the Dominican Republic is back with the Spartanburgers this season, so barring a promotion he'll be in attendance for the team's We Love Disla Night. The first 1,000 fans receive a bobblehead featuring Disla in full uniform riding a buffalo. Sometimes dreams do come true.

Nine Weddings, Nine Innings
Durham Bulls (Triple-A TB), May 20
How can you not be romantic about baseball? Especially if you attend the Durham Bulls game on May 20, which will feature one ballpark wedding for every inning of baseball played. A chance to watch couples affirm, or re-affirm, their lifetime commitment to one another while in the confines of a Triple-A ballpark? Don't mind if "I do!"

David Ortiz Hartford Rock Cats bobblehead
Hartford Yard Goats (Double-A COL), May 28
The Hartford Yard Goats came into being in 2016, following the relocation of the nearby New Britain Rock Cats. On May 27 and 28, the Yard Goats will honor this previous era of franchise history by playing as the Hartford Rock Cats, blending their current team colors with the Rock Cats' logos. The May 28 game is highlighted by a David Ortiz bobblehead, in which he is depicted as a Rock Cat. Ortiz played for New Britain in 1997, back when he was still known as David Arias.

Promise Night w/ Lebron James x I Promise School bobblehead
Akron RubberDucks (Double-A CLE), May 30
LeBron James hasn't retired from basketball and he doesn't play baseball, but that didn't stop the Akron RubberDucks from retiring his uniform no. 23 in 2018. They'll be honoring Akron's hometown hero again on May 30, giving away a bobblehead featuring James in an I Promise School basketball uniform. The I Promise School is an elementary school in Akron supported by the LeBron James Family Foundation, "dedicated to those students who are already falling behind."
