NEW YORK -- With rain in the forecast nearly all day Saturday, the Mets postponed their 4:10 p.m. ET game against the Rockies. It will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader Sunday beginning at 1:40 p.m. ET, with the second game starting 30-45 minutes after the end of Game 1.
Kodai Senga and Nolan McLean will start for the Mets in an order to be announced.
Tickets for Saturday’s game will not be valid for admission to the makeup doubleheader, and the Mr. Met at the Unisphere bobblehead, which was scheduled to be given away on Saturday, will be rescheduled for a future date. Fans holding a paid ticket for Saturday’s game will receive a voucher loaded into their My Mets Tickets account for a comparable 2026 home game. More details, including a list of games excluded from exchanges, are available at Mets.com/Weather.
Senga will now pitch on eight days of rest after the Mets pushed him back in the rotation amid a troubling stretch. He has allowed 13 earned runs over his last two starts, putting his rotation spot into question.
“I think we’ve seen flashes from Kodai,” president of baseball operations David Stearns said. “We haven’t seen the consistency. We’re banking on the flashes and continuing to get into the rhythm of the season, but we need some more consistency -- no question.”
McLean has shown the Mets more than mere flashes, with a 2.67 ERA through five starts. He took a perfect game into the sixth inning last time out but ultimately settled for a no-decision.
The Mets have lost 13 of their last 15 games, including a 12-game losing streak to begin that stretch.
