Rox-Nats postponed Monday; DH set for Wed.

WASHINGTON -- Taking note of heavy rain in the area, the Nationals postponed Monday night’s game against the Rockies at Nationals Park about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.

The Rockies pushed right-hander Peter Lambert (2-1, 6.06 ERA) to start Tuesday against righty Stephen Strasburg (12-4, 3.52). Monday’s game will be rescheduled as a split doubleheader Wednesday. Colorado will start Jon Gray (9-7, 4.11 ERA) and Kyle Freeland (2-7, 7.62) that day, but the order has yet to be determined.

The Nats also haven’t set their pitching order for Wednesday's games, but the starters are expected to be left-hander Patrick Corbin (7-5, 3.40 ERA) and righty Erick Fedde (1-1, 3.50), who was supposed to start Monday.

The Rockies also have not announced a starter for Thursday afternoon's series finale. It is expected to be righty Jeff Hoffman (1-3, 6.75 ERA), who was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. But as of Monday, Hoffman was told to be ready in the bullpen in case Colorado needs him.

Because the pitching staff has been taxed recently, the Rockies are going with just three non-starting position players.
