ST. LOUIS -- Rockies relief pitcher Seunghwan Oh grew up dreaming of success a world away from his home in South Korea.
"The only way I could see any Major League ballparks was through television," said Oh, who, by chance and with the help of the Cardinals, treated the Korean Junior National Team to a day at Busch Stadium.
Oh, 36, played college baseball with one of this year's Korean National Pony League baseball team coaches, Jae Wan Park, and he played in high school with another coach, Ji Wan Lee. So when Oh was traded from the Blue Jays to the Rockies last week, the coaches realized that Colorado would be in St. Louis while the Pony League team was playing in an international event a couple hours away. Some fast work by the Rockies and Cards solidified an arrangement where the Korean team had a chance to meet Oh while he was working out before Thursday afternoon's 3-2 loss to the Cardinals, in which he pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

"It was just lucky for both of us," Oh said. "For me, more than talking to the guys, myself, I wanted to show the Major League ballpark and show the kids what they can dream of later on. These are young kids. I wanted to give them a dream, after this tournament, even. So hopefully it was a good experience for them."
Oh did his normal throwing program while the players, full royal-and-white uniforms, waited, then met the group. But Oh laughed when asked if the players could pick up anything while watching him work.
"It's probably more helpful for the kids to see other guys over here," Oh said.
Rehab updates
• Lefty pitcher Chris Rusin (left foot plantar fasciitis) checked out healthy after Thursday's simulated game, and he is scheduled to pitch for Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday night, Sunday and Tuesday.
• Righty Chad Bettis is scheduled to start for Albuquerque on Friday night. Rusin is needed for a multi-inning bullpen role, and Bettis could fit either in the rotation or the bullpen.
• Veteran outfielder Matthew Holliday had an RBI groundout and a double in four plate appearances for Rookie-level Grand Junction. Holliday signed a Minor League contact over the weekend, and he agreed to play at Grand Junction before joining Albuquerque.
