Royals partner with Ericsson & Sprint for phone recycling event
Fans Can Meet Jeremy Guthrie & Sluggerrr at Events on August 28 & September 12
The Kansas City Royals are partnering with Ericsson and Sprint on a phone recycling campaign this season to provide a simple and convenient way for Royals fans and local residents to recycle old cell phones and accessories in exchange for Royals tickets and a Sprint store credit (on eligible phones) of up to $300. To promote the program, Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie will join Sluggerrr to meet fans at Sprint Stores on Thursday, August 28 in Overland Park, Kan., and Friday, September 12 in Kansas City, Kan.
Fans who turn over their old phone at these events will receive two free Royals tickets to an upcoming 2014 home game, while supplies last (one set of tickets per fan). Cell phone batteries, chargers, cords and other related accessories will also be accepted. Fans can learn more about the event by visiting www.royals.com/recycle.
Guthrie will meet with fans from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. during each event. Autographs may be limited to the first 100 people in line, with additional autographs signed as time allows. Cards ensuring a spot in the autograph line will be distributed starting at 11 a.m.
