Manual Therapist/Second Assistant Athletic Trainer
Dave Iannicca is entering his 18th season with the Royals and third as the Manual Therapist/Second Assistant Athletic Trainer. He spent the previous three seasons as the Minor League Medical Coordinator, following eight seasons as the Certified Athletic Trainer at Triple-A Omaha. Iannicca joined the Royals in 2007 as the Athletic Trainer at Class-A Burlington, then worked from 2008-10 at Advanced-A Wilmington.
In 2010, Iannicca earned Carolina League Athletic Trainer of the Year honors and was an Athletic Trainer in the Arizona Fall League. Prior to joining the Royals, he spent the 2006 season as the Athletic Trainer for the Atlanta Braves Gulf Coast League in Orlando. He was an intern in the Yankees organization from 2003-04, working with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers and the Yankees Player Development Complex in Tampa. He has also worked as an Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level as a graduate assistant at Virginia Wesleyan College.
Iannicca earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Bowling Green State University in 2003 and his Master of Science in education degree from Old Dominion University in 2006. He resides in Buckeye, Ariz., with his wife, Jacqueline, and son, Ryan.
