Director - Professional & Sport Development
Jeff Diskin begins his 12th full season with the Royals and second as the Director of Professional and Sport Development. He previously served as Senior Director of Professional and Community Development from 2021-22, Director of Professional Development from 2018-20, and Coordinator of Cultural Development from 2013-18.
In his current role, Diskin expands on what the Royals have been doing at their Dominican Academy by increasing educational opportunities for all players in the United States. These professional development opportunities will be intended to help the players on and off the playing field. Some of the most impactful work associated with helping players off the field is to find college baseball homes for players released form the organization’s Dominican Academy.
For the 2024 season, Diskin will support Matt Marasco, Sr. Director of Player & Staff Engagement, with the work that he is doing with the professional development of coaches and staff in the Royals system.
Diskin joined the Royals after working at the Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City, Mo. Diskin previously taught English and worked as the Assistant Director of Athletics at Pembroke Hill. He continues to serve the school as the varsity baseball coach. He also taught in Thailand following the 2004 tsunami and on the island of Saipan during the 1998-99 school year.
Diskin earned his master’s degree in business administration from Pittsburg (Kan.) State University and his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. He resides in Kansas City, Kan.
