White Sox announce 2018 broadcast schedule

The Chicago White Sox, NBC Sports Chicago, WGN-TV, WGN Radio AM 720 and WRTO-AM 1200/Univision Radio have announced the team's television and radio broadcast schedules for the 2018 season.

The Chicago White Sox, NBC Sports Chicago, WGN-TV, WGN Radio AM 720 and WRTO-AM 1200/Univision Radio have announced the team's television and radio broadcast schedules for the 2018 season.
NBC Sports Chicago and NBC Sports Chicago+ will televise 107 White Sox games in 2018, beginning with Opening Day on March 29 at Kansas City (3:15 p.m. CDT). NBC Sports Chicago also will broadcast the home opener at Guaranteed Rate Field on April 5 vs. Detroit (3:10 p.m.), and three of the six games of the Crosstown series on May 12-13 (1:20 p.m.) at Wrigley Field and on September 23 at Guaranteed Rate (1:10 p.m.).
WGN-TV will air 55 White Sox games this season, opening with its first telecast on March 31 at Kansas City (6:15 p.m.). WGN also is scheduled to televise three of the six Sox-Cubs match-ups, airing both openers at Wrigley on May 11 (1:20 p.m.) and Guaranteed Rate on September 21 (3:10 p.m.), as well as the White Sox home game on September 22 (6:10 p.m.).
All NBC Sports Chicago, NBC Sports Chicago+ and WGN telecasts will be available in high definition. Every regular season White Sox telecast on NBC Sports Chicago, including surrounding White Sox Pre/Postgame Live programming, will be accessible via NBCSportsChicago.com and the NBC Sports app to authenticated NBC Sports Chicago subscribers. All out-of-market White Sox games also are available live via MLB.TV across its more than 400 supported devices.
NBC Sports Chicago will air the following holiday games; Mother's Day, May 13 at the Cubs, Independence Day, July 4 at Cincinnati (6:10 p.m.), Labor Day, September 3 vs. Detroit (1:10 p.m.) and Remembrance Day, September 11 at Kansas City (7:15 p.m.). WGN-TV will broadcast games on Memorial Day, May 28 at Cleveland (3:10 p.m.) and Father's Day, June 17 vs. Detroit (1:10 p.m.).
Ken "Hawk" Harrelson begins his 33rd and final season in the White Sox television booth in 2018. Harrelson will call the play-by-play for all home Sunday games and select games throughout the season, which includes the White Sox home opener (April 5), where he will be accompanied by fellow broadcasters Steve Stone and Jason Benetti.
Stone, who enters his 10th season in the television booth and 11th with the club, will continue to provide fans with the color analysis during the season. Benetti, in his third year with the Sox, will call the play-by-play alongside Stone for the majority of the 2018 season.
WGN Radio, entering its first year as the White Sox flagship radio station, will broadcast all 162 games. The on-air duo of former Sox pitcher Ed Farmer (play-by-play) and former outfielder Darrin Jackson (analyst) returns for its 10th season together.
WRTO-AM 1200/Univision Radio returns for its fourth consecutive year as the Spanish-language radio home of White Sox baseball following a seven-year run from 2005-11. WRTO-AM will broadcast all 81 Sox home games during the 2018 season. Hector Molina (play-by-play) and Billy Russo (color analyst) return as the club's Spanish-language broadcast team.
