Hall of Famer put on a show in the 2007 Home Run Derby in San Francisco.

In addition to Guerrero, the seven other competitors in that year’s Home Run Derby were the Phillies' Ryan Howard (2006 winner), the Twins' Justin Morneau, the Brewers' Prince Fielder, the Tigers' Magglio Ordóñez, the Cardinals' Albert Pujols, the Blue Jays' Alex Ríos and the Rockies' Matt Holliday. Holliday replaced an injured Miguel Cabrera.

Guerrero, Ríos and Holliday each hit five homers in the first round to advance, while Pujols and Morneau both tied with four blasts, requiring a swing-off that Pujols won to advance. In Round 2, Ríos led the way with 12 blasts, while Guerrero and Pujols each had nine and Holliday hit eight.

Ríos and Guerrero advanced to the finals with Ríos at 17 total homers and Guerrero with 14, just ahead of the 13 from Holliday and Pujols. Ríos, though, managed to hit just two shots in the finals, and Guerrero hit his third with three outs remaining to win the Home Run Derby.

Guerrero became the third Angels player to win the Derby, as Wally Joyner won it in 1986 and Garret Anderson won it in '03. The highlight was a 503-foot drive from Guerrero, who had his trademark massive swing in full force en route to the first and only Home Run Derby victory of his career.
