Angels sign LHP Adam Kolarek

ANAHEIM – The Angels today agreed to a one-year, $900,000 contract with LHP Adam Kolarek.

Kolarek, 34, appeared in five Major League games in 2023, posting a 0.00 ERA (6.0 IP – 0 ER) and seven strikeouts across stints with the Dodgers and Mets. He began the year with Triple-A Oklahoma City before having his contract selected June 11. On August 1, he was traded to the New York Mets alongside RHP Phil Bickford, and would finish the season with Triple-A Gwinnett in the Atlanta Braves organization. Kolarek compiled a 2-3 combined record and 3.80 ERA (42.2 IP – 18 ER) across 46 Triple-A appearances with Oklahoma City, Syracuse, and Gwinnett.

A Baltimore native, Kolarek was originally selected by the New York Mets in the 11th round of the 2010 Draft out of the University of Maryland and made his Major League debut with Tampa Bay in 2017. He was a member of the Dodgers 2020 World Series Championship roster and has totaled 175 career games (all in relief) across parts of seven MLB seasons with the Rays (2017-19), Dodgers (2019-20, ‘23), Athletics (2021-22) and Mets (2023).
