Sources: Gregerson to pitch for Team USA
Cardinals infielder Carpenter offered spot on team

Astros right-hander Luke Gregerson will pitch for Team USA in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, sources told MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi on Tuesday.
Sources also told Morosi that Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter has been offered a spot on the team but that he has yet to commit.

Gregerson, 32, threw two scoreless innings for Team USA in the 2013 World Baseball Classic and is coming off a season in which he posted a 3.28 ERA in 59 appearances for Houston.
Carpenter hit .271/.380/.505 with 21 home runs and 68 RBIs in 129 games for St. Louis in 2016, earning his third All-Star nod
