Braves' game vs. Phils on Friday rained out

August 8th, 2020

Friday's game between the Braves and Phillies has been postponed because of inclement weather.

The two teams will play a seven-inning doubleheader on Sunday at Citizens Bank Park. Game 1 will begin at 1:05 p.m. ET and Game 2 will begin 40 minutes after the completion of Game 1.

Left-hander Max Fried will likely start one game of the twin bill, while the bullpen is expected to see action the second contest. Fried has looked like a frontline starter in each of his first three starts, allowing just four runs over 17 2/3 innings. Fried's curveball has always drawn attention, but his slider has become his best pitch.

Right-hander Kyle Wright, who was scheduled to pitch on Friday, will start for Atlanta on Saturday.

After a rough season debut, Wright was able to escape multiple jams in three-plus scoreless innings against the Mets on Sunday. The highly regarded prospect needs to be more consistent to remain within the rotation.
