Cards-Braves rained out; twin bill Sunday

June 19th, 2021

ATLANTA --  Mother Nature has presented the Braves with the challenge of playing doubleheaders on consecutive days.

Inclement weather led to the postponement of Saturday night’s game against the Cardinals approximately five hours before the scheduled first pitch. The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Sunday at Truist Park.

The first game will begin at 2:10 p.m. ET, with first pitch of the nightcap at 7:08 p.m. Bally Sport Southeast will broadcast the first game, and ESPN will have a national broadcast of Game 2. Both games will be scheduled for seven innings.

After the doubleheader, the Braves will head to Citi Field to begin a four-game series against the first-place Mets, with a twin bill scheduled for Monday.

Bryse Wilson will be promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Sunday’s first game. Saturday’s scheduled starter, Drew Smyly, will start the nightcap.

The Braves haven’t announced who will take the hill for Monday’s twin bill, though they could use Ian Anderson and Kyle Muller. To be eligible to return to the Majors, Muller would have to be designated as the 27th roster member for the doubleheader.

Guests who cannot attend Sunday's rescheduled game can exchange their ticket for one to any remaining 2021 regular-season Braves home game, subject to availability. Ticket exchanges must take place before Sunday's 2:10 p.m. game.

All guests who purchased through StubHub or any other third-party website will be able to enter the opener with the same barcode and seat location from Saturday's postponed game. Any ticket inquiries regarding third-party purchases must be made directly with that third party, not through the Braves.
