A trio of prominent Braves made rehab appearances for Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
In the first game of the Stripers’ doubleheader, Ronald Acuña Jr. (Grade 1 left hamstring strain), Ha-Seong Kim (right middle finger inflammation) and Sean Murphy (fractured left middle finger) each made appearances.
Acuña played all seven innings of the first game in right field and went 1-for-3 with a single. The Braves’ star has been on the injured list since June 10. He's expected to return sometime in the next week, which would give the Braves a much-needed boost for the final two months.
Kim, who has been on the injured list since July 4, went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. The veteran infielder has only played 27 games this season due to various injuries and his timetable is less clear than Acuña's.
Murphy went 0-for-3 with a walk and played all seven innings behind the plate. The veteran backstop has been on the injured list since May 12 and is expected to return to the Majors sometime in August.
