ATLANTA -- Ronald Acuña Jr. has homered off the Marlins as frequently as he has any other team. But this marked the first time he literally homered off two Marlins.
Acuña recorded one of the wackiest home runs you will see during the third inning of Thursday night’s game against the Marlins. Just when it looked like his long drive to left-center field would be caught at the outfield wall, the ball simultaneously hit the gloves of center fielder Esteury Ruiz and left fielder Heriberto Hernández before popping over the wall.
The Marlins and Nationals have allowed the most home runs to Acuña, both surrendering 27. This latest homer was a two-run shot off Janson Junk.
