ST. LOUIS -- Braves catcher Tyler Flowers left Friday's 5-1 win over the Cardinals in the sixth inning with a right hamstring cramp.
"He should be good, it was just a cramp," Braves manager Brian Snitker said. "It's amazing that that happens when these guys spend so much time doing everything right, but he'll be all right."
On a humid night in St. Louis, Flowers first felt the cramp while taking his first swing of his third at-bat in the top of the sixth, which resulted in a flyout to end the inning. He continued to feel it with each additional swing.
"It's a little challenge because you can't do your normal thing," Flowers said. "But once you start an at-bat, you want to finish it."
After the flyout, the Braves' training staff met him on the field, and he limped off.
"I did everything that I know of and in my power to prepare for it," Flowers said. "Atlanta's not really any different climate-wise than what this was. No answers really, just bad luck."
Kurt Suzuki replaced Flowers, who went 1-for-3 with a strikeout.
